Welcome,my name is Al (aka) Greenbacks.I`m 39 years old,been gambling for about 23 years now,back in the day when there were only local books.I remember my first experience making money.It was at the racetrack (Aqueduct) i was 16.My grandfather had taken me there on a Saturday afternoon and i hit an exacta and thats all it took.From there i was hooked.I strictly played the horses for a few years but i soon graduated to the life of bookies and betting on games.I hung out with a group of guys and it seemed like everyone had action with there book on a daily basis.Baseball,hoops,football and hockey it did`nt matter we needed the action.Us guys could not wait to see the newspaper in the morning for the lines.If i remember correctly you paid on Wednesdays and got paid on Thurdays.I had alot of good runs and of course had my beatdowns.But,since the internet i find it alot easier to know whats going on .Back then all you had was the lines from the newspaper for the most part.These days you have all the information you want right there in front of you,just a click away.With the net,you can see who the public is betting,what the lined opened up at,line movements,injuries,trends.Put it this way,you can go back as far as you want to see the history of a team.It`s all right there in that screen.And with all this information it is alot easier to conquer the books in my opinion.For me,i like to fade the public and of course the public will never beat vegas in the long run.Also, the key is limit your plays.1,2,3 plays the most on a daily basis.For the last 9 years i have been participating in sports forums on the net.And my screen name was Greenbacks.I have made lots of money for myself and for many peeps in the last 9 years on the boards.I will never forget the run i had in the 2004-2005 NBA playoffs.I went on a crazy 15-0 run.That`s right,i was red hot and thats an understatement.I was posting on 2 forums at that time.And posters do bring that season up to me every now and then.Yes,i can go on a hot streak no doubt about it.My thing is going against home favorites.I think its a money maker.Especially when the public is pounding them hard lets say at 70% and the line is at -3.Then all of a sudden the line slips to 2.That`s what i like.And i have made tons of money on line drops.But of course there`s more to it then just fading the public.I look at team`s strengths and weaknesses and compare them.I also like going with hot teams.I will take pride on uncovering the edge that gives the consumers the ability to beat the books on a consistent basis.Just like i was able to do while posting as a gambler in the forums.So with that said,i have decided to go into business for myself.And i hope to be here for a long,long time.
